Before reading further, you finish the title’s sentence. Then you can see what inspired me to post.
Part of my “unfair advantage” as a mentor to growth-oriented businesses and a college professor is a blending of
- big-company experience
- startup, entrepreneurial experience
- and matching wits with very bright students by teaching three classes in Purdue University’s Entrepreneurship & Innovation Certificate Program.
Here it comes!
I am a big fan of Stanford University’s video library. It’s a great place to get hour-long videos plus selected snippets that are in very digestible chunks. One of the chunks I like best is by Tina Seelig, Executive Director, Stanford Technology Ventures Program. The title is “Never miss an opportunity to be fabulous!”
During the first day of a new semester, I play this three-minute video in all classes.
We use many videos during the semester, and this one resonates with me because its message is so powerful. Since first watching it ten years ago, when working on a project for a client or for my classes, “What can I do to make this fabulous?” pops into my head like a song that won’t go away. The thought invigorates me to turbo-charge my efforts for the task at hand.
